Meet Kelvin “#MrListIt” Jenkins

Who Is Kelvin “#MrListIt” Jenkins?

I’m Kelvin Jenkins—better known to a lot of people as “#MrListIt.” I live, work, and raise my family right here in Aiken, South Carolina. By day, I’m a full-time realtor helping people buy and sell homes and land in and around Aiken. By night (and plenty of early mornings), I’m the person behind Discovering SC, sharing what it really feels like to live, retire, and put down roots here. If you’ve ever searched “Should I move to Aiken, SC?” or “Is Aiken, SC a good place to live?” and wished someone would just give you a straight answer, that’s exactly why I do what I do. My goal is simple: give you the context, clarity, and local insight you need to make a confident decision about Aiken—long before you ever step into a showing.

I didn’t set out to become “the Aiken guy” on the internet, but over time that’s exactly what happened. As a realtor, I kept answering the same questions for people thinking about moving to or retiring in Aiken: Which neighborhoods fit my lifestyle? What’s the commute like if I work at the Savannah River Site? Where do people actually spend their time? I realized that most listing sites only show square footage and photos—not the horse culture around Hitchcock Woods, the quiet beauty of South Boundary, the energy on local golf courses, or the way downtown Aiken still feels like a real small city with a heartbeat. So I leaned in. I combined my real estate work with content creation, pulled back the curtain on everyday life here, and started building Discovering SC as a resource for people just like you—curious, cautious, and wanting to get it right.

Why I Started Discovering SC – and How I Help People Like You

Discovering SC exists because I got tired of watching people make big life decisions about Aiken, South Carolina based on thin, generic information. When you’re thinking about moving to or retiring in Aiken, you’re not just buying a house—you’re choosing a community, a pace of life, and a new rhythm for your days. I wanted a place where we could talk honestly about all of that. Through the blog, I dive into topics like moving to Aiken, retiring in Aiken, SC, navigating horse and equestrian life, understanding golf communities like Woodside and Creekside, and comparing neighborhoods and communities around the city. It’s not meant to sell you on Aiken at all costs—it’s meant to show you what life here actually looks like so you can decide whether it fits what you want next.

Different people come to Aiken for different reasons, and I try to meet each of them exactly where they are. If you’re moving to Aiken, SC from out of town, I help you make sense of schools, commute patterns, neighborhoods, and local amenities, often long before you book a flight. If you’re a retiree considering Aiken as your next chapter, we’ll talk about climate, healthcare access, golf, churches, and what everyday life really feels like. For Savannah River Site and Augusta-area professionals, I focus on location and drive time, helping you choose between quiet cul-de-sacs, golf communities, or homes closer to downtown. And if you’re already local but upsizing, downsizing, or shifting into a new season of life, I’m here for that too—helping you stay rooted in the Aiken area while finding a home that fits who you are now and where you’re headed next.

How I Work With You in Aiken, South Carolina

My approach as an Aiken, SC realtor is simple: no pressure, no games, and no sugarcoating. I’d rather you have all the information you need and decide that Aiken isn’t the right fit than rush into a move you regret a year later. When we talk, you’ll get direct answers about the pros and cons of different neighborhoods, the realities of the local market, and what day-to-day life really looks like here—not just the highlight reel.

When we work together, you can expect straightforward communication about pricing, neighborhoods, and lifestyle fit. I’ll tell you when a property or community actually lines up with what you’ve told me you want—and when it doesn’t. We’ll talk about more than just square footage and list price; we’ll dig into commute times, how a street feels at different times of day, where people actually spend their time, and whether a home supports the kind of life you say you want in Aiken, South Carolina.

Numbers matter—monthly payments, property taxes, insurance, and closing costs are all a big part of any decision. But in my view, they’re only half the story. I’ll help you understand the financial side while also asking questions like: Will you enjoy your morning walks here? How will this drive feel after a long day at the Savannah River Site or in Augusta, GA? Does this community give you the social life, quiet, or convenience you’re looking for? My job is to help you find a place where both the math and the lifestyle make sense.

I see every client relationship as a partnership that starts with the first conversation and continues well beyond closing. I’m here to guide you from early research, to showings, to negotiations, to inspections, to the day you get your keys—and after that, I’m still around. You’ll see me in the grocery store, at local events, on the golf course, or under the trees at Hopelands Gardens. At the end of the day, I represent you, and that means protecting your interests, keeping you informed, and helping you make decisions you feel good about long-term.

When I’m not working on contracts or recording content for Discovering SC, I’m usually doing the same things I encourage my clients to do—actually living life in and around Aiken. That might mean grabbing a meal at a local spot downtown, walking with family under the pines, attending community events, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home. Staying engaged in the community keeps me grounded and makes me better at what I do. And if you’re still in the “just browsing” stage, I’d invite you to explore the Discovering SC Blog and, when you’re ready, reach out through the Contact page so we can talk honestly about whether Aiken is truly the right next chapter for you.
