North Augusta: Riverside Living with Small-Town Ease

North Augusta riverfront at golden hour

This Saturday, collectors and gamers will head to Riverview Park for Augusta Card Fest 8, so it feels like the right week to shine the Discovering SC spotlight on the city that hosts it: North Augusta, South Carolina.

Neighborhood Spotlight: North Augusta

North Augusta sits right on the Savannah River, directly across from downtown Augusta, Georgia. That location is its superpower. You get quiet, tree-lined streets, a classic small-town downtown, and real riverside green space, all just a few minutes from Augusta’s job centers, medical district, and entertainment.

A few things locals love:

  • The Greeneway. A paved trail system that winds along the river and through green space. It is the spine of the city for walkers, runners, and cyclists.
  • Brickyard Park. A riverfront park with an amphitheater that hosts concerts and community events all year, with wide-open space along the water.
  • Riverview Park and Activity Center. Home to sports tournaments and events like Card Fest, and another reminder of how much of this city’s life happens outdoors.

The housing mix ranges from established neighborhoods with mature oaks to newer subdivisions on the city’s growing edges. It suits just about everyone: professionals who want a short commute into Augusta, families who want space and parks, and retirees who want small-town calm without giving up city conveniences. And when you want horse country, Aiken is about a half hour up the road.

Your CSRA Weekend

Here is what is happening around the region:

  • Augusta Card Fest 8 — Saturday, Sept. 26, at Riverview Park in North Augusta. A big collectible card and gaming event with about 190 vendor tables, live music, games, and a silent auction.
  • Carolina Regional Pony Club Show Jumping Rally — Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26–27, at the Aiken Horse Park Foundation (931 Powderhouse Rd SE, Aiken).
  • 12th Annual Augusta HBCU 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair — Saturday, Sept. 26, at 8:00 AM along the North Augusta Greeneway.
  • Matthew and Gunnar Nelson in concert — Tonight, Sept. 26, at 7:30 PM at the Amentum Center for the Performing Arts (126 Newberry St SW, Aiken).

If you have never crossed the 13th Street Bridge just to see what is on the other side, this is a great weekend to do it.
